Friends Reunited Jobs - Is their job site any good?
Friends Reunited Jobs has now been 'retired'. It was originally launched to take advantage of FriendsReunited's huge traffic. FriendsreunitedJobs comes under the same masthead as the parent site and shares the same visual identity. The owners claim that it offers over 40,000 jobs.
Here you will find straightforward jobseeking tools: you can conduct a quick search by job title, keywords and location. Or, you can conduct a more detailed search by adding excluded terms, contract type, salary, and the date of an advert. An innovation on this site is the location field: you can choose more than one area to search, meaning that you can look for jobs in two or more different places at the same time.
Unlike other sites, you have to register before you can view the full details of a particular job, even if you then decide not to apply. Once registered on Friendsreunitedjobs, you can upload your CV for applications, request email alerts for relevant jobs, create and store standard covering letters, manage your applications and online profile (which can be viewed by recruiters), and request employer updates.
This is an extremely accessible site, visually clear with user-friendly text. However, most jobs returned in search results appear to be advertised by agencies or major employers, so bear this in mind when deciding whether to register or not.
