hi,

i have sweaty palms, because of a hereditary disease [which after years of treatment seems incurable now] and not becuaes i'm nervous or am lacking in confidence. My question to you would be, when anyone asks me for a handshake, should i give an explanation as to my sweaty plams, or go ahead, or how can i avoid a handshake......

That's a tough one!

It depends on how sweaty your hands are. Please test this on your friends / colleagues - if they say that they don't notice it then please stop worrying. If they say that they notice it a lot then I'd recommend telling the interviewer. The interviewer will probably like the fact that you are open and honest. Please practice your handshake and explanation with a close friend or work colleague - so it comes over as both natural and genuine.

Trying to avoid shaking someone's hand will make you look unfriendly - so I would recommend that you shake the interviewer's hand if they offer a handshake.

Good luck with your next interview.
